Jizerská 50 can take place even under current snow conditions

The organizers closely observe the snow conditions in the Jizerské Mountains. There are some critical places on the Jizerská 50 trail with a thinner snow layer at the moment, nevertheless the race can take place even under the current conditions.

The conditions are not ideal particularly in the north-western part of the trail, that’s why the organizers have been working hard on this part -  reinforcing the track with scooters, which you can now come across during training on the trail. They have been focusing on the critical spots, i.e. the sections Krásná Máří – Točna, stadium – U Buku and the beginning of the Smědava rise – Knajpa. In the remaining parts of the Jizerská 50 trail, the snow conditions are satisfactory.

Simultaneously, whenever the whether conditions allow it, a supply of technical snow is being produced at the Bedřichov stadium, which will make it possible to cover the places with a thinner snow layer. The situation concerning the weather report and snowfall in the Jizerské Mountains is being carefully monitored by the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute, which keeps the organizers informed.

Although there hasn’t been much snowfall in Czech mountains this year, the conditions on the Jizerská 50 trail make the race possible to organise.
