ČEZ Jizerská 50 opens registrations. The organisers believe the 55th edition will be able to take place in the traditional format

On Friday 11th June 2021 the largest cross-country skiing race in the Czech Republic, ČEZ Jizerská 50, opens registrations for its 55th edition. Although this year’s "hobbies" race in the Jizerské Mountains could not take place due to the epidemic, the organisers believe that cross-country skiing enthusiasts will meet at the starting line in Bedřichov again on the weekend of 11-13 February 2022.

For the organisers and participants this year’s edition was unusual in perhaps all respects. And also full of snow. This is the only thing that the organisers want to transfer to February 2022. "We think there has been enough virtual racing since last year and we firmly believe we will be able to organize the 55^th edition of the legendary cross-country skiing race as we are used to from previous years. We are looking forward to a mass start at the stadium in Bedřichov and we hope that the snow conditions will be as ideal as they were this winter,” says David Douša from the Raul agency on behalf of the race organisers.

If you have registered for the 54^th ČEZ Jizerská 50 and applied for a discount as part of the reduction for the 55^thedition, you will find the discount code in your profile immediately after opening your registration in the same place as where you applied for the discount. Here are instructions. The code can be applied for any race no later than September 30, 2021 in the last step of the registration. More than half of the registered participants have decided to leave their entry fee to the organizers, who will use this funding to prepare for the upcoming year. "At the same time, we have promised that we would donate 10% of the total amount donated to us to a charity, namely the Committee of Good Will - Olga Havel Foundation. We are very happy that we have managed to collect over CZK 350,000, which will go to the needy,” says Martin Koucký, chairman of the Jizerská padesátka Ski Club.

The registration system opens on Monday, June 11 at 11:00 am. Jizerská is no longer only a 50K race! Competitors can choose from a half-length option or go for a family "ten". These are classical technique races. Participants can also race freestyle in a 30K race or with a group of colleagues or friends in a relay for companies. There are also children’s races.
