ČEZ JIZERSKÁ 50

The capacity is filled.
In cooperation with NROS Foundation and their charity project "Help the Children", we are fundraising for a ceiling lift system that will enable Jaroušek’s parents to handle the eight-year-old more easily. You can contribute during registration for the ČEZ Jizerská 50 in the SportID system.

Jaroušek is a smiling eight-year-old boy who enjoys sports with his dad in his souped-up sports buggy, goes to school with his friends, travels, and loves to discover the world. In short, he lives a full life with his loving parents, as much as his condition allows. In reality, however, Jaroušek is seriously ill and has to spend most of his time in a wheelchair.
When Jaroušek was born, he seemed to be developing into a perfectly healthy baby. The first complications appeared after six months, when doctors diagnosed him with a severe brain disease associated with epilepsy that cannot be sufficiently treated with medication, muscle weakness, a severe form of childhood autism, and profound mental impairment. As if that weren’t enough, more bad news came recently. Jaroušek also suffers from Ollier disease and Maffucci syndrome. The result of all this is that at eight years old, Jaroušek is at the global developmental level of a ten-month-old baby. Every day he has to cope with epileptic seizures, full-body spasms, or even unconsciousness.
Ollier disease and Maffucci syndrome limit his movement, so he can only take a few steps at a time before he falls or sits down and needs to rest. Otherwise, he is completely dependent on a wheelchair. He is often tired, has difficulty with food, so he has a blended diet and a special diet due to food intolerances. He also has trouble sleeping. Profound mental retardation and childhood low-functioning autism prevent him from communicating and speaking in a conventional way. As a result, he is often frustrated because he tries to participate in conversations, but in his condition, this is not possible. He then tries to get attention by screaming, crying, or self-harming (biting himself).
Despite all this, Jaroušek is a smiling boy who runs with his dad in his souped-up benecykl, goes to school to see his friends, and loves to discover the world. His parents take him to various therapeutic treatments, on trips, and sometimes even for a whole weekend to see new places so Jaroušek can happily observe what's happening around him.
We would like to make this discovery a little easier for Jaroušek, and for that, we need your help. Even though he is at the developmental level of a small child, he is actually big, and daily handling of him is physically demanding. As part of the Jizerská 50, we will be raising money for a ceiling lift system for the hallway, which will help Jaroušek get into his outdoor wheelchair more quickly and easily. Discovering the world will be one step closer.
As his mom and dad say: “Life with Jaroušek is a great adventure for us, but despite all the difficulties, we are happy to have our boy.” Help ensure this adventure can continue with as few obstacles as possible. You can contribute during registration in the SportID system.
We greatly appreciate that the spirit of sportsmanship, fairness, and consideration is also shown in helping children who don't have it easy in life. Over four years of cooperation between Jizerská 50 and "Help the Children," we have jointly raised 500,000 CZK. In addition to acquiring needed aids, the funds raised also help families cover expensive rehabilitation and other care. Thank you for helping with us.
