Almost 2,800 competed in ČT Jizerská 10 and Jizerská 25. Shorter race dominated by Stanislav Řezáč

The third day of the 56th ČEZ Jizerská 50 started early in the morning with the classic technique Jizerská 25. 1,230 participants enjoyed the popular race despite the moody weather and the occasional drizzle did not spoil their mood at all. In the afternoon, it was time for the family-friendly ČT Jizerská 10 for non-professionals. The cross-country ski legend Stanislav Řezáč and his son Aleš also took part in the race. Did the son manage to beat the multiple winner of the ČEZ Jizerská 50?

Standing at the starting line, some front-runners of the traditional Jizerská 25 could already be spotted – Adam Matouš, Luděk Šeller or Adéla Ročárková. So it came as no surprise that the last two names ended up finishing the trail across Nová Louka, Čihadla and Hřebínek first. Luděk Šeller cheered himself up after an unfortunate fall at the finish line of yesterday's ORLEN Benzina Sprint and won with a great time of 1:05:04. Less than ten minutes after him, the winner of the Volkswagen Bedřichovská 30, Adéla Ročárková, finished and added another triumph to her account.

The weather did not take mercy on the competitors on the shorter ČT Jizerská 10 either which was also attended by the duo Stanislav and Aleš Řezáč. From the beginning, it was a clear battle between the father and son to see who would reach the finish line first. Years of experience and racing helped Stanislav Řezáč win the race with a time of just under 30 minutes. He left his son 43 seconds behind and proved that he is perfectly prepared for tomorrow's ČEZ Jizerská 50.

Over 1,500 skiers, including diverse family teams, enjoyed the laid-back ČT Jizerská 10. It was a pleasant route through Královka and Hrabětice and was an ideal choice for all cross-country beginners to start their future racing success.

The program continued with a mass in the Bedřichov St. Antonín church where everybody honored the memory of the deceased climbers from the 1970 Peru expedition. Among the climbers of this unfortunate expedition were many founders of the event. The ČEZ Jizerská 50 will never forget them.

Saturday was completed by the Mirai band in Liberec, where they performed as part of the ČEZ Energy fest and played their most popular hits. Despite the bad weather, the band attracted big crowds to the outside of the illuminated town hall in the Dr. E. Beneš square in Liberec.

The one thing everyone has been looking forward to since the beginning of the 56^th ČEZ Jizerská 50, the main 50 km race, is going to happen on Sunday. You can look forward to a real skiing show by elite competitors from all over the world. More or less advanced skiers will follow right behind them and thus the biggest cross-country ski race in the Czech Republic will begin.
