Based on an agreement with the Czech Ministry of Health, the 54th edition of ČEZ Jizerská 50 will see some changes. Over 5000 participants have signed up for the race and no more will be able to. Unfortunately, since the situation of the covid-19 pandemic is worsening we have been forced to lower the race capacity and close registration.
As early as the start of autumn, we informed the public that because of the unstable epidemic situation in the Czech Republic we were working on several alternatives and scenarios for the race. After negotiation with representatives from the Ministry of Health and after evaluating the current situation we are now working with the option where the largest possible number of skiers get to run the course they registered for while the lowest possible number of people meet on the course and in the event base.
We are still doing our utmost to make sure registered participants do not miss out on their race and the 54thedition of the event takes place with sufficient hygienic measures and safely both in the base and on the trails.
The ČEZ Jizerská 50 main race on Sunday and the Friday Benzina Sprint for professional participants of the international Visma Ski Classics series are still part of the original programme. The Sunday race for the world elite on the 14th February will be broadcast live by Czech Television. Viewers will not miss out on this traditional event and on the live streaming full of beautiful shots of the Jizerské Mountains.
In mid-January, we will continue working out the arrangements with the Ministry. After that, it should be clear what this year’s ČEZ Jizerská 50 will look like both for amateur and elite skiers, but also for all cross-country skiing fans. We’ll provide more information on our website and social networks as soon as we know more.

ČEZ SkiTour series postpones two races, registration continues
The biggest Czech cross-country skiing series, ČEZ SkiTour, which includes Jizerská 50, must move the first two races to a later date because of tightening measures. The Bedřichovský Night Light Marathon will move from 8th–9th January to the weekend of 19th – 21st February (the exact date will be specified during January.Zadovská 30 is postponed from the original third weekend in January (16th –17th January) to mid-March (13th–14th March). The other races in the series remain on the planned dates. The series will thus start at the last weekend in January with the Karlovská 50 race in the Beskydy Mountains.
The final format of the races will depend on the current situation which is difficult to predict at the moment and also on another meeting with the Ministry of Health which will take place in the middle of January.
