Jizerská 50 announces 5,000th participant. The last remaining places are available

When will it be sold out? The 52^nd edition of the Jizerská 50 has registered record interest in starting numbers. While the last edition set a new record in terms of the number of participants at the starting line, there is even greater interest in the upcoming race. “The first snow has come to the Czech mountains and interest has again increased. For example, not quite one-third of places still remain for the main 50km race,” say the organisers.

A total of 7,289 racers were at the starting line of this year’s Jizerská 50. Will there be even more in 2019? So far, it seems that there definitely will be, as there is heightened interest in starting numbers for all trails, from ten to 50 kilometres.

“For example, the Mini Jizerská children’s races are celebrating their 25^th anniversary and we are thus pleased that there is interest not only in the races for adults, but also in the children’s events. An extensive accompanying programme will be prepared for the whole family. Furthermore, a number of children have signed up for the ČT Jizerská 10 with their parents. Practically everyone can handle that trail,” the organisers say.  

The 52^nd edition of the famous race will be held from 8 to 10 February, on the second weekend of that month. Discounted starting fees for all distances are currently available. Everyone can register at www.jiz50.cz.

“If anyone is waiting to register, they should keep in mind that not many places at the starting line remain. Also, the capacities of the individual races are limited in order to maintain the quality of the trails and for reasons of environmental protection. The trail runs through a protected landscape area and we want to leave the landscape in the same condition as before the race weekend,” says Richard Valoušek, Jizerská 50 spokesman.
