Come on Sunday to commemorate the Peru Expedition and mountaineer Zdeněk Hrubý

Since Jizerská 50 is above all a  memorial for the tragically killed Peru Expedition mountaineers, we have decided to devote the Sunday activities at the Bedřichov stadium to mountaineering. Apart from commemoration of the Peru 70 Expedition we will also hold a memorial ceremony for the highly regarded mountaineer Zdeněk Hrubý.

The voluntary Sunday event will begin at 8.45 by the Peru 70 Expedition Memorial at the Bedřichov stadium, where the organizers of Jizerská 50 together with the competitors will hold a memorial ceremony for the tragically killed mountaineers, including Zdeněk Hrubý.

At nine o’clock the programme will continue spontaneously with a symbolic start of the cancelled  47th ČEZ Jizerská 50. Each participant can cover any part of the Jizerská 50 route, on foot, on a bike, or on cross-country skis.

The route will be Šámalka, Jizerka, Smědava and Hřebínek. At the finish at the Bedřichov stadium we will award a memorial certificate to everyone who turns up with a race number.

At the Bedřichov stadium the participants can hire Nordic Walking sticks, there will be a Mountain Rescue Service stand, sales of Jizerská 50 souvenirs, and ČEZ Energy Zone. We look forward to meeting you.
