You can get a racing kit, enjoy SkiFest or pay your respects to deceased mountain climbers this weekend

Although there is still spring-like weather and high temperatures in Jizera Mountains, we have decided to comfort fans of cross-country skiing and Jizerska 50 race at least a little.

This Thursday at 9 am we start to give out racing kits (which include bibs with racing numbers and unique pin made especially for the occasion of 47th anniversary of Jizerska 50 race.) at Nisa shopping mall in Liberec town. Racers in children’s race can get KAMA hat, too.

Despite of cancellation of Jizerska 50 race, SkiFest will take place on Saturday 11th at Dr. E. Benes square in Liberec, just as planned. Famous Czech band MIG 21 is going to concert there, too. The concert starts at 7 pm.

And since Jizerska 50 race is to remember a group of Czech mountain climbers of Peru Expedition mainly, we have decided to pay our respects to the climbers of Peru Expedition and also to a well-known and respected Czech climber Zdenek Hruby, who tragically deceased last year. The memorial ceremony will take place on Sunday 12th at 9 am at Bedřichov Stadium, by Peru 70 Expedition Memorial.

According to reports many participants of the memorial ceremony plan to walk the race track on foot.
