Jizerská 50 confirmed, tracks are ready

The fight against inclement weather that the organizers of Jizerská 50 ČSOB Pojišťovny put up  was successful. The forthcoming 46th race will take place over the weekend on 11-13 January 2013 as planned. Weather forecasts moreover promise favourable conditions.

“The last days were really taxing as we had to cover with artificial snow some critical points on the track. Further alterations will continue until the Friday start of ČEZ Bedřichovská 30,” said Martin Koucký from the organizing committee. “I would like to thank in this way all the organizers and volunteers who came to help us prepare the whole track.”

Three major races will take place at Bedřichov over the forthcoming weekend: On Friday the freestyle ČEZ Bedřichovská 30, on Saturday the classic Intersport Jizerská 25, and the programme will culminate on Sunday in the main 50 kilometre race in classic style. In all, close to 7,000 lovers of cross-country skiing from 29 from different countries of the world should take part in the weekend races.

Jizerská 50 ČSOB Pojišťovny offers more than sports experiences. A music ČEZ SkiFest will be held on Saturday in Liberec featuring the popular group J.A.R. It will play for all visitors for free in an open space in the street 5. května in close vicinity of Edvard Beneš square.
