This non-traditional 'race' in historical costumes is primarily a tribute to the era when the history of the Jizerská 50 began. Since 1971, the Jizerská 50 has been held as a memorial to the Peru 1970 Mountaineering Expedition. The gathering of old-school skiers honours this expedition, whose 15 members tragically died during a devastating earthquake below the peak of Huascarán. Just a few months before this fateful tragedy, the expedition members had taken part in the Jizerská 50.

There will be an opening ceremony before and after the race.

There will be no doping tests :-)
