BENZINA ORLEN SPRINT: SKIERS TO RECEIVE PRIZE MONEY OF 400 THOUSAND CZECH CROWNS

ČEZ Jizerská 50 wouldn’t be complete without the traditional Friday sprint. Benzina ORLEN Sprint is simply an essential part of this year’s programme again. Skiers will once again set off from the Bedřichov stadium on a 1.5 km long course and compare their strength. At the finish line, they will divide 400,000 CZK between them.

Two years ago there was a significant increase in the financial reward, but it does not end there. The main partner of the race, Benzina ORLEN, continues to support the sprinters’ competition and the bonuses will go up again this year. Prize money will increase by 100% compared to last year. The sprint race attracts competitors from all over the world to the Jizerské Mountains.

As is the tradition, the six fastest men and women will be rewarded. The male and female winner will each receive 100,000 CZK. The silver medallists will split 80,000 CZK and the bronze medallists 48,000 CZK. The rest of the money goes to the competitors who finish in fourth, fifth and sixth place. There is obviously no shortage of motivation.

Apart from a great sporting experience and the exciting atmosphere at the stadium, the financial rewards are another interesting attraction for domestic and overseas cross-country skiers. Thanks to this incentive, we can look forward to an adrenaline-filled sprint with an interesting line up.

As usual, elite competitors of the Visma Ski Classics series will be present in Bedřichov this year. In the past, Norwegian legend and two-time Olympic champion Petter Northug or last year’s winner, Max Novak, a Swede with Czech roots, were among those who took part in the double-poling race.
