THE ČEZ JIZERSKÁ 50 LAUNCHES REGISTRATION AND PREPARES SOME NEW FEATURES

Do you already know what you will do over the second weekend January 2016? If you plan to participate in the traditional ČEZ Jizerská 50, sit up and take notice: On-line registration has just been launched for all races of the next year’s event which will be held from 8–10 January 2016. There are several new features waiting for all competitors.

The race disciplines of the 49th edition of the event remain the same as they were in winter 2015. However, there will be a change in the Friday schedule. The children’s race called Mini Jizerská Pojišťovny VZP will start at 10.00 a.m. The start time of The Volkswagen Bedřichovská 30 will be back after lunch: at 1.00 p.m. This will be followed by the second edition of 1.5-kilometre double-pole push sprint at 5.30 p.m. Ending up the Race Day One, the traditional opening ceremony, this time paying tribute to the Peru 1970 Expedition, and fireworks will take place at night.

“We decided to adapt the Friday schedule based on our competitors’ reactions,” said Martin Koucký, the Secretary of the Jizerská 50 Ski Club. The afternoon term of the Bedřichovská 30 will be more comfortable and not time-consuming for the participants. On the contrary, rescheduling the children’s race to Friday morning will make it possible for more schools to get involved.”

Another novelty is accident insurance coverage automatically provided by Pojišťovna VZP (General Health Insurance Office) to all of the competitors entered as part of their entry fees. In the event that any injury occurs during a race, the injured competitor will be paid 500 Czech crowns for each day of treatment. In 2016, the competitors will win finisher’s medals or other Jizerská 50 souvenirs.

Those who will enter for the event and pay the entry fee by 30th June 2015 will save money because the entry fee for the main 50-kilometre classical cross-country ski technique race, for example, will amount to CZK 1,250 in such a case. As in the previous years, those who are interested in buying car parking passes for the Saturday or Sunday race or reserving accommodation can make it as part of their registration.
