ČEZ JIZERSKÁ 50
29.1.2026
The opening day of the ČEZ Jizerská 50 cross-country skiing festival traditionally belongs to freestyle races. The 30-kilometre course was won by the best Czech skier in the Ski Classics series, Fabián Štoček, while Zuzana Kocumová turned last year’s silver medal into a dominant victory in the women’s race. The programme in Bedřichov continued with the VINCI Construction Jizerská 17, where Petr Kolaja and Tereza Hujerová claimed the wins. The evening concluded with a memorial ceremony.

Weather conditions proved favourable for both athletes and organisers. Light snowfall shortly before the start of the event brought a true Jizera Mountains atmosphere to Bedřichov, with temperatures hovering just below freezing.
Participants in the 30 km race enjoyed a return to the highest parts of the Jizera Mountains. The course climbed towards Kristiánov and Rozmezí before looping via Knajpa back to Čihadla. After passing Hřebínek, skiers faced a change at Gregor’s Cross – instead of heading directly to the finish, they turned onto Vládní, which led them to the final sprint in the Bedřichov stadium.
The finish was mastered best by Czech elite racer Fabián Štoček, while Zuzana Kocumová dominated the women’s field, gradually building a decisive lead and celebrating victory at the finish line.
The shorter freestyle race, held for the first time under the title partnership of VINCI Construction, traditionally took place on the so-called Magenta Track. The popular circuit offered an attractive and fast spectacle. Unlike the 30 km race, competitors headed directly from Kristiánov to Točna and Hřebínek before returning to the finish.
Thursday’s programme concluded with a memorial gathering at the monument dedicated to the victims of the Peru Expedition 1970. The remembrance of the mountaineers – some of whom were among the founders of the Jizerská 50 – is an integral part of every edition of the event. The popular historical skiers were also present, gliding through the Bedřichov stadium on vintage skis in period costumes. The ceremonial handover of the Golden Ice Axe to the organisers officially marked the opening of the 59th ČEZ Jizerská 50.
The festival continues on Friday with the Mini Jizerská Dr. Max children’s races for young skiers aged 3 to 14. In the afternoon, the popular T-Mobile Corporate Relay takes place, followed by a major highlight in the form of the ORLEN Sprint, featuring an even stronger elite field. This year’s sprint is included in the Ski Classics series for the first time ever. Fans unable to attend in person at the Bedřichov stadium can follow the key moments live on ČT Sport from 15:50.
